Wow does time fly.  Weaning for both litters is moving along nicely. Before too long we'll have all puppies eating normal dog food - the mommy dogs will be relieved.  Little critters have teeth.

If you're one of the families adopting it's a good time to prepare your house for the new arrival.   We're fans of crate training - took us a few dogs to come around to understanding why this is a good thing for both puppy and new families.   We'll be starting crate soon for the puppies so they'll already have some experience with it when you take him/her home.   Part of each go home package includes the kibble we'll have fed your puppy.    It's the same premium brand we  feed our dogs.   Click here to order online.

Soon we'll start matching puppies with families.   We have 12 puppies to match up so you can imagine how interesting that process is.  We'll always try to match preferences indicated on applications and our communication with new owners.  We also do our best to match-make so that we're placing puppies with families that we think are most compatible.  Family visit day is also a good time to see interactions between puppies and people.  In the end we're confident that each new family will get a wonderful new companion to bring into their homes.

A little personal note from the person writing this.  I love our doodles.  Lately I've been taking two of our non-breeding girls trail hiking.  There's a local land trust that provides several miles of marked trails in a hilly and wooded terrain.  I'm able to let the girls run off-leash.  It's a joy to have them with me on these daily excursions.  They're beautiful when they're charging up and down the trails free to be dogs.  I have no trouble keeping them near me and they always come to me when I whistle (treats help).    I can't wait to re-include Gabby and Sydney on our outings.

Gabby's Columbus day puppies are stepping out into a larger space this week and we're starting to provide them a thin gruel of formula.  New toys are introduced just about daily and these little cuties are already showing their love of human affection.  Sydney's puppies are doing great and aren't far behind.  They're wobbling around and will soon be in larger space to play and grow.   Everyday we go through a series exercises to stimulate and acclimate the puppies so that when they go home they'll be the addition to your family you're looking for.

I miss having these two on my daily walks.  Right now it's just me, Belle and Ruby that you'll see around town.   Soon Gabby and Sydney will be able to return to their spots in the walk pack and the five of us will be together again! Until Gabby goes home to her guardian family anyway.

11/1/17.  We're into week 3 of two litters and all puppies are doing great!  Both moms too.  Sydney and Gabby have made a sweet pair of dual moms, budding up with each other and checking on each other's pups to be sure everyone is doing well.  Dolly's puppies have started to open their eyes and are just begging to wobble around a bit.  Gabby's puppies are becoming very vocal and are begging to recognize the humans looking after them.  It's really fun to watch the daily changes.

Neither litter is closed yet but we're getting close!      New pics on Facebook happen regularly.
